Meet me: Karen Hodgson

Updated: Apr 24

Karen served as a police detective in the Metropolitan Police for many years. As an operational officer and line manager she witnessed the challenges faced by emergency services personnel and how these experiences can impact mental health and wellbeing.

Karen is an Associate Director for The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales and founded The Royal Foundation’s Emergency Responder Programme supporting blue light staff and volunteers across the UK, she is also a Trustee of the Blue Light Card Foundation.

Karen has been a Surfwell advocate from the beginning and a helpful sounding board for strategy ideas along the way (often over a strong coffee).

She has been spotted on a surfboard and accepts there is room for improvement!
